After finishing fourth in the Cape Guineas back in December, Dean Kannemeyer's colt kicked off 2024 with victories in the Politician Stakes and the Cape Derby. Green With Envy then upset hot-favourite Sandringham Summit to win the WSB Guineas, before warming up for the July with a hard-fought triumph in the Daily News 2000.
That Group One triumph earned Green With Envy a merit rating of 127 and, being a three-year-old, Craig Zackey's mount will get weight from his older rivals in South Africa's most famous handicap.
