Brett Crawford's three-year-old endured a low-key start to the season. Oriental Charm went from a Class 4 victory at Kenilworth to finishing eighth behind Green With Envy in the Politician Stakes, before crossing the line third behind that same rival in the Cape Derby.
Juan Paul van der Merwe's mount returned from a short break with a narrow defeat to another Durban July contender, Future Swing in the WSB 1900. Keen to get another run into his star, Crawford sent Oriental Charm to Greyville for the Dolphin's Cup Trial earlier this month, where he ran out an impressive winner.
Oriental Charm will again by ridden by JP van der Merwe, who'll wear the aquamarine and grey silks of owners Greg Bortz, Leon Ellman and Ms Gina Goldsmit. Crawford's three-year-old will be number 17 on your racecard and break from stall 11 next Saturday.
